We Go Far Together

African antiquity has always suggested that we are stronger in number and that we are to work together as a community.  If it takes a village to raise a child then it stands to reason that it takes a village to sustain, expand, and replicate a village.  A number of questions come to mind when considering the idea of repatriation to Africa: who will, by what method, when should one, where within the continent and why should one?

While many of the answers to these questions may derive from cultural or religious perspectives, there are, however, many practical and pragmatic reasons, considerations, and approaches.  If you want to get somewhere fast, go alone. There was a moment when I had to apply this strategy in order to better position myself to access knowledge, understanding, and experience. If you want to go far, go with others.

When you get to a place whereby you realize what needs to be done can be accomplished with greater effectiveness and efficiency should you work with others, the wisdom from this timeless adage becomes greater understood.  While I’m not substantiating the reasons, I would, however, like to draw reference from the narrative of the building of the tower of Babel. It’s written, these were a people so united in thought and in deed that The Creator found it necessary to scatter them and their language in order to thwart their efforts.

Imagine now, the greater unification of a mass Exodus or migration out of western society to Africa and how much more successful we can be should our thoughts and deeds be synonymous. After considering this, hopefully, the implications of who, what, when, where, and why become more imperative.  Let’s make this journey together!
